Divorce Care Support Group (online)

“New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings” ~ Lao Tzu

Subsequent group runs in the evenings and starts Thursday June 4th at 6:30pm-8pm.

Divorce, or the breakdown of a long-term love relationship, has been named one of the most stressful and traumatic life experiences we can go through. Not only do we face the loss of a life partner, but also many secondary losses. These may include financial stability, friendships, a home, and family life, all of which must be acknowledged and grieved. Whether your divorce or separation is recent, or happened years ago, you will meet with others who can relate. Together you will confront all those self-limiting beliefs that leave you fearful about your future. We’ll also talk about the many practical challenges that come with such a life-transitional breakup.

This group is for anyone who has gone through (or is currently going through) divorce, separation, or the ending of a long term relationship and is experiencing unresolved pain as a result.

Body Image Workshop

“If our only our eyes saw souls instead of bodies, how very different our ideals of beauty would be.” ~ Mother Theresa

Do you wish you could look in the mirror and love what you see, instead of picking fault with certain body parts?

In a society where we are pressured to look a certain way and in which “thin” is still pushed by the media and fashion industry as the “ideal,” it is no wonder so many people suffer from poor body image. Low self-esteem in this area leads to destructive eating habits such as yo-yo dieting, binge eating and comfort eating.

In this workshop the goal is to repair your relationship with your body after years of destructive self-talk and yo-yo dieting through empowering conversation with like-minded individuals.

Grief Support Group

“No one ever told me that grief felt so like fear.” ~ C.S. Lewis

In the murky waters of grief it can feel like life is slipping by in a fog and you are no longer a part of it. In that place it is hard to believe you will ever know joy again.
In this grief support group you will work through your grief in a safe accepting space at your own pace and find hope with people who understand exactly what you are going through. We will talk about the 5 stages of grief and what happens when you feel stuck in one of them, as well as complicated grief and how it can hold you back.

This group is appropriate for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one due to death. If your loss is as a result of divorce or a break-up you may find the divorce care group more beneficial.

**These workshops are open to all adults age 18+ and not restricted by gender or sexual orientation.**

Contact claire@safehavenbc.com or call 778-835-1145 for more information about any of these groups. Please note that for a group to run, a minimum of 8 participants is required or the workshop will be cancelled.
