Meet Ikjyot (Joty)

Ikjyot Rehal is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from Simon Fraser University. For over a decade now, she has been been working to support individuals in achieving their unique goals. She has extensive experience in helping people with anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, family/relationship conflicts, and trauma.

Approach

In her therapy sessions, Ikjyot strives to create a safe and supportive environment for her clients so that they feel comfortable expressing their emotions without fear of judgement. She supports them in reaching their goals, whether it’s getting “unstuck,” developing coping skills, increasing self-empowerment, or improving relationships.

 

In couples therapy, Ikjyot uses both the Gottman Method and EFT to help couples strengthen their relationship through effective communication and to build a stronger connection.

 

Her therapy approaches include Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), Attachment-Based Therapy, the Gottman Method, Strength-Based approach, Person-Centered approach, Trauma-informed approach, and Somatic-Based approach.

Ikjyot Rehal is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from Simon Fraser University.

 

She has certifications in the Gottman Method of Couple’s Therapy, EFT Couples Therapy Externship, and Emotions Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), among others.
